How to Run Auto-SSL Manually on Your AVIOX Cloud Webspace

An SSL certificate is essential for every modern website. It protects user data, enables HTTPS, improves credibility, and even boosts SEO rankings. While AVIOX Cloud supports automatic SSL installation across cPanel and Plesk, there are times when Auto-SSL needs to be triggered manually. Maybe you migrated a website, changed hosting servers, updated DNS, or added a new domain. In all these cases, running Auto-SSL manually ensures your site is properly secured.
This guide explains how Auto-SSL works, how to run it manually on AVIOX Cloud, and how to fix common issues if your certificate doesn’t install on the first attempt.
What Auto-SSL Does and Why It Matters
Auto-SSL is a background service that checks your domains and automatically installs free SSL certificates, usually from Let’s Encrypt or Sectigo.
It handles:
Domain validation
Certificate installation
Renewals
Replacements for expired certificates
If your domain points correctly to AVIOX Cloud, Auto-SSL ensures HTTPS works without needing any manual configuration.
However, Auto-SSL may fail if:
DNS is not configured correctly
You recently changed nameservers
Your domain still points to old hosting
Propagation is incomplete
Redirect rules block validation
That’s when running Auto-SSL manually becomes essential.
Running Auto-SSL Manually in cPanel
Most users use cPanel for domain and SSL management. You can run Auto-SSL manually either through cPanel or WHM (for VPS/Reseller setups).
Option 1: From Inside cPanel
Log in to cPanel
Go to SSL/TLS Status
Select the domains you want to secure
Click Run Auto-SSL
cPanel will then:
Validate DNS
Issue SSL certificates
Install them automatically
You should see green padlock icons next to domains once the process completes.
Option 2: From WHM (for VPS Users)
Log in to WHM
Go to SSL/TLS → Manage AutoSSL
Choose provider (Let’s Encrypt or Sectigo)
Select your user account
Click Run Auto-SSL
WHM will start a complete SSL scan for all domains attached to that account.
This is often faster and more powerful than using cPanel.
Running Auto-SSL Manually in Plesk
Plesk handles SSL differently, using built-in extensions for certificate issuance.
For Standard SSL
Log in to Plesk
Go to Websites & Domains
Open SSL/TLS Certificates
Select Install or Reissue Certificate
Choose Let’s Encrypt
Click Reissue
Plesk instantly revalidates your domain and updates the SSL certificate.
For Wildcard SSL (Optional)
Select Let’s Encrypt
Check Wildcard Certificate
Verify DNS TXT record
Reissue the certificate
Plesk supports DNS validation which is useful for multi-subdomain setups.
Common Auto-SSL Issues and Fixes
1. DNS Not Pointing Correctly
Auto-SSL requires an A record pointing to your AVIOX Cloud server IP.
Fix:
Update DNS records
Wait for propagation
Run Auto-SSL again
2. Domain Still Uses Old Nameservers
If your domain is routed to old hosting, Auto-SSL cannot verify it.
Fix:
Update nameservers
Confirm with DNS checker
3. Redirect Loops or Force-HTTPS Blocks Validation
If .htaccess redirects everything to HTTPS, the certificate cannot install.
Fix:
Temporarily disable redirects
Run Auto-SSL
Re-enable HTTPS
4. Domain Recently Added
Newly added domains must be recognized by the server before Auto-SSL runs.
Fix:
Wait 5–10 minutes
Run Auto-SSL manually
5. DNS Propagation Delay
Full DNS propagation may take several hours.
Fix:
Wait
Test DNS using DNSChecker
Re-run Auto-SSL
Best Practices for Auto-SSL on AVIOX Cloud
Always verify A records before running Auto-SSL
Avoid duplicate DNS entries
Do not mix Cloudflare SSL and cPanel/Plesk SSL unless correctly configured
Renew certificates before expiration
Use staging domains temporarily if propagation is slow
